Shaft work in the Gotthard base tunnel
REDPATH DEILMANN was awarded a contract for the design and installation of temporary and permanent facilities required for the performance of works in the Sedrun I shaft of the Gotthard Base.
The Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) in Switzerland is the world's longest railway tunnel with a length of 57 km.
The 800 m deep Sedrun I shaft, which serves as the inspection shaft, is located in the Sedrun section and can only be reached by a 1 km long access tunnel.
