K+S mine Braunschweig-Lüneburg
Rehabilitation of the Braunschweig-Lüneburg 1 hoisting shaft and installation of an inner steel lining.
Shaft 1 of the Braunschweig-Lüneburg potash mine was sunk in 1911 and has final depth of about 600 m. The shaft is an ore and a men-material hoisting shaft. Since 1980, several sections of the tubbing lining were rehabilitated. REDPATH DEILMANN received an order for further lining rehabilitation in the shaft. The project comprised the extension of an existing leaking steel lining system and the installation of a sealing element at a depth of 294 m.
In particular, the workd comprised:
- Design, supply and installation of a fully welded steel inner liner with 65 mm wall thickness and of a Dowell Chemical Seal Ring
- Planning, supply, installation and removal of the necessary working and fire protection platforms
- Installation to be performed during a production shutdown of the mine in summer
