Shaft Konrad no. 1 – Shaft rehabilitation Works
The construction work described is part of the construction project for the establishment of the Konrad repository. Shafts 1 and 2 of the former Konrad iron ore mine are to be prepared for the service of a repository mine. The former ore-hoisting shaft Konrad 1 is to be used as an extraction, a men-material and a cable shaft. The Konrad 2 shaft will be used for hoisting of containers with radioactive waste.

At the same time, the pipelines and cables systems in the shaft are to be renewed or extended. In addition, the shaft stations on the 3rd, 4th and 5th levels location as well as the concrete bricks lining in damaged areas of the shaft is to be repaired.
