Our Engineering Department offers customized designs for our construction work and our customers. Thanks to our many years of experience and close cooperation with the construction team, we create precise plans that meet requirements using the latest methods and specialized software. Sophisticated planning and work preparation lead to optimized project processes and considerable cost savings.
Around 60 experienced designers, electrical engineers, geologists, mining and civil engineers, technicians and draughtsmen work in our technical department at our headquarters in Dortmund. Depending on the project, they are supported by other planning teams on our construction sites and external specialist planners.
Our geo-engineering evaluates the "building material rock" with regard to stability, solubility and water flow. Based on this, sinking methods, dewatering measures and shaft lining systems, for example, are designed.
Our mine planning organizes and optimizes the logistical processes from the development to the storage of the mine.
Our design department plans system layouts, sinking systems and special constructions for shaft construction projects as well as conversion and renovation projects.
Our machine engineering department develops special machines for shaft sinking and conveyor systems for mine shafts.
Our electrical engineering department plans the power electrics and machine controls for special machines and conveyor systems, including programming.
During the feasibility studies, we gather all the necessary information about the client's requirements, the site, the geology and hydrogeology and all other project constraints.

As part of the preliminary and concept planning, we deal with the development of ideas. This allows us to compare and contrast variants and alternative concepts in the early planning process. In basic engineering, three-dimensional designs are then created, which are checked with rough calculations. This also allows us to check the approvability of our plans. Soil freezing is one of our core competencies in shaft, civil engineering and tunnel construction. This environmentally friendly process effectively secures and seals water-bearing soils and loose soils.
Existing shafts are up to 100 years old and are exposed to a variety of loads. Despite durable construction methods, they are subject to natural wear and tear. We know the typical damage patterns and offer customized solutions for renovation, conversion and extension.
