In 1997, Deilmann-Haniel strengthens its strategic focus on the international specialty mining business. The takeover of the Canadian company J.S. Redpath gives the company access to North American mining and expands its expertise in ore mining. In 2009, Deilmann-Haniel develops a new shaft lining concept for water pressures of up to 10.5 MPa. This concept, which consists of a tightly welded sheet steel casing, concrete and bolted steel inner armoring, is successfully used in the Canadian potash mining project PCS Scissors Creek. It enables the construction of shafts under extreme conditions and contributes to increased efficiency and safety in mining.
In 2006, ATON GmbH takes over the international division of Deilmann-Haniel GmbH, consisting of the shaft construction division, Deilmann-Haniel mining systems, J.S. Redpath, Frontier-Kemper (USA), Deilmann-Haniel South Africa and Beton- und Monierbau in Innsbruck.
